How Much Does a Smile Makeover Actually Cost?

We love talking to patients about smile makeovers because they’re one of my favorite plans to see through to the end. The look on a patient’s face when they see their new smile in the mirror is priceless to us. But there’s definitely a cost on the patient’s side, and it’s important not to gloss over that. So, how much can you expect to pay for your cosmetic treatment? Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell without seeing you in person, but let’s dive into why that is.

Why Isn’t There a Single Number?

A smile makeover isn’t one price because it isn’t one treatment. Someone who needs whitening and a little bonding is looking at a very different investment than someone doing a full set of veneers. The only way to get a real number is by going in for a real, physical consultation. Anyone who can quote you a price over the phone is probably using magic (that we would love to learn).

What Drives the Cost?

A smile makeover is a plan, not a procedure, so the cost will rise or fall according to how detailed the plan is. Treatment type is the biggest factor, but it’s not the only one. The number of teeth involved matters. One veneer for a troublesome tooth is way more affordable than covering six or eight teeth.

Materials are another factor. The higher the quality, the more expensive the restoration. Finally, there’s the matter of foundation work. Your mouth needs to be healthy before you get cosmetic treatment; otherwise, your results just won’t look the same, nor will they last very long.

How Do You Make a Smile Makeover More Affordable?

First and foremost, you should come in for a consultation. This will lay all your options on the table, so you can look them over. Just remember, you don’t have to do everything at the same time, and you don’t need five or ten procedures to make a noticeable difference. Doing one or two targeted things is often far more affordable than going all-in from the beginning.

Dental insurance rarely covers any kind of cosmetic treatment unless there’s a health reason for it. That said, financing platforms like CareCredit exist for this reason. It lets you pay for your treatment up front and then spread the payments over time like a credit card.

Come in, tell us what’s bothering you, and let us build a plan for you around an actual number instead of an educated guess. Most people are relieved to learn it’s more manageable than they imagined.
